My Testimony

MY STORY
Picture this scene....You go visit your doctor for a regular check-up visit and during the visit the doctor tells you that due to some chronic medical condition you need to increase your activity. Actually the doctor may have been telling you this for a while now.

Well I've been there and that's what exactly happened to me in 2017. I was in my mid 30s and suddenly diagnosed with high blood pressure. To be honest my doctor had been telling me for a few years to become more active. Being a Registered Nurse, I knew my doctor was right and I had to do something. Being diagnosed with high blood pressure and put on blood pressure medication a few months later was exactly what I needed to get my act together and finally increase my activity. In June 2018, I made the commitment to myself to be consistent with my exercise. I started slow with walking and now I'm at the point I've joined a gym and can participate in high intensity classes.
The key point that I'm trying to make here is that I started and that's what I want for you. Being a nurse in home care and visiting my client's in their homes, most dealing with chronic medical conditions,  I see how people just don't move enough. It's time to change that narrative. It's time to change YOUR narrative. It's time to get that high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and/or high blood sugar under control .
My pictures below tell my own journey. That's right this a continual journey that we are on in keeping healthy and active. Let me give you some stats to go along with those pics above.
  • Early 2017 I had a sudden spike in my blood pressure-- 158/94, 180lbs
  • Started low dose medication by mid 2017-- 140/90, 180lbs
  • Annual visit June 2018-- 132/78; 180lbs
  • Annual visit June 2019-- 118/76; 180lbs (same weight but increased endurance and strength)
  • Annual visit June 2020-- 124/68; 162lbs

I share my stats with you not to gloat, but to encourage you and let you know it can be done. I'm not just another health professional or fitness professional talking out the side of their mouth. I share this to show you that I am you. I can relate. I've been there and I am still on my personal journey of being healthy.

So are you ready to get started? Well as a nurse and medical exercise specialist I am here to help you get started and I have a few services that can assist you. Let's get started!
